Our Take

Corrosion of Conformity's latest offering, "No Cross No Crown," is a nostalgic journey back to the golden age of heavy metal. With their signature blend of sludgy riffs and guttural vocals, the band reminds us why they have been a staple in the metal scene for over three decades. From the opening track, "Novus Deus," it is clear that COC are not here to reinvent the wheel. Instead, they stick to their tried and tested formula of crushing guitar solos and thunderous drumming. And you know what? It works. Tracks like "Wolf Named Crow" and "The Luddite" showcase the band's ability to create infectious hooks that will have you headbanging uncontrollably. While the slower, more melodic moments in songs like "Cast the First Stone" provide a welcome respite from the headbanging madness.
