KISS - Night of the Living (2021) You wanted the best? Well, you got the best...or did you? KISS, the legendary rock band known for their larger-than-life personas and pyrotechnic-filled performances, are back with their latest album "Night of the Living." But is this album a rock and roll resurrection or just a zombie-like rehash of past glories? From the opening track, "I Was Made for Loving You (But I'm Dead Inside)," it's clear that KISS are embracing their undead theme in full force. The band's signature blend of hard rock and glam metal is on full display, with blistering guitar riffs and over-the-top theatrics galore. But while KISS may still have their iconic stage presence, "Night of the Living" ultimately feels like a nostalgia trip rather than a bold new chapter in their storied career. Tracks like "Living Dead Girl" and "Zombie Rock City" feel like they could have been lifted straight from the band's 80s heyday, with little to distinguish them from their previous hits. That being said, there are still moments of pure rock and roll adrenaline to be found on this album.
