Our Take
Ah, Night of the Crime, the latest offering from ICON, or as I like to call them, the "OGs of glam rock." This album is like a fine wine - it's been aging for over three decades, but it's still as intoxicating as ever. From the moment the first track kicks in, you're transported back to the neon-lit streets of the 80s, where big hair and even bigger guitar solos reigned supreme. It's like stepping into a time machine, but instead of being greeted by Marty McFly, you're greeted by the powerhouse vocals of Stephen Clifford. The production on this album is slicker than a greased lightning bolt, with each instrument shining through like a diamond in the rough. The guitar work is particularly noteworthy, with riffs that could make even Slash jealous. But what really sets Night of the Crime apart is its sense of fun. This isn't an album that takes itself too seriously - it's all about good times, catchy hooks, and lyrics that will have you singing along at the top of your lungs. So, crank up the volume, grab your favourite leather jacket, and get ready to party like it's 1985. ICON may have been out of the spotlight for a while, but with Night of the Crime, they prove that they're still the kings of the glam rock genre. Verdict: A nostalgia-fuelled trip back to the glory days of 80s rock that will leave you tapping your feet and reaching for the hairspray. 4 stars.
