Our Take

A neon heart? More like a neon fart, am I right? Nick Capaldi's latest album is a confusing mishmash of bland lyrics, forgettable melodies, and uninspired production. It's the musical equivalent of a cheap knock-off handbag - trying so hard to be something it's not, but failing miserably.

From the moment you hit play, you're bombarded with cliché after cliché, as if Capaldi raided a bargain bin of rejected pop songs from the 90s. The lacklustre vocals are buried under layers of auto-tune, making it impossible to connect with any emotion or meaning behind the music.
