Our Take

Oh, Nastradamus, where do we even begin with this one? Nas, the legendary wordsmith from Queens, New York, has certainly had his fair share of highs and lows throughout his career, but this album falls squarely into the latter category.

From the moment you press play, you're greeted with a cacophony of cringe-inducing production choices and lacklustre lyricism that's as uninspired as it is forgettable. It's almost as if Nas himself got caught in a time loop and thought it was still the late '90s when he made this record.

The title track, "Nastradamus," sets the tone for the rest of the album with its clunky beats and half-baked rhymes. Nas tries to channel his inner Nostradamus with predictions about the future, but it comes across more as a bizarre attempt at fortune-telling than anything prophetic.

Other tracks like "Life We Chose" and "Family" try to inject some emotional depth into the album, but they fall flat due to Nas' lacklustre delivery and the overly slick production that sounds like it was phoned in from a generic R&B factory.

Overall, Nastradamus feels like a missed opportunity for Nas to showcase his lyrical prowess and storytelling abilities. Instead, we're left with an album that feels more like a relic of a bygone era than a testament to Nas' talent. Sorry, Nas, but this one definitely missed the mark.
