Our Take
Our Take
Ah, Sid Vicious: the punk rock bad boy of the 70s. Known for his tumultuous stint in the Sex Pistols, Vicious was never one to shy away from controversy - and his solo album "My Way" is no exception.
From the very first track, it's clear that Vicious is hell-bent on doing things his way. His gravelly voice and raw emotions infuse each song with a sense of urgency and rebellion. Whether he's crooning his way through a ballad or snarling his way through a punk anthem, Vicious leaves it all on the table.
The highlight of the album is, of course, Vicious' iconic cover of Frank Sinatra's "My Way." His unconventional interpretation of the classic song is equal parts daring and captivating. It's a bold move that pays off in spades, showcasing Vicious' unique artistic vision and unparalleled charisma.
While "My Way" may not be a polished masterpiece, it is a powerful testament to the enduring allure of Sid Vicious. His untamed energy and fearless attitude shine through on every track, making this album a must-listen for any fan of punk rock or rebellious music in general.
So, grab your safety pins and leather jacket, and crank up the volume on Sid Vicious' "My Way." It's a wild ride that's sure to leave you feeling invigorated and inspired. And remember: in the immortal words of Vicious himself, "I did it my way."

About the artist
Sid Vicious
Sid Vicious burst onto the punk rock scene like a wrecking ball in the late 1970s, leaving chaos and controversy in his wake. Born John Simon Ritchie in London, he quickly adopted the persona of Sid Vicious to match his rebellious nature and punk ethos. Known for his wild on-stage antics and off-stage antics, Vicious was the quintessential punk rock bad boy. His time as the bassist for the iconic Sex Pistols was marked by erratic behavior, drug use, and a stormy relationship with fellow bandmate Nancy Spungen. Despite his lack of technical prowess on the bass guitar, Vicious brought an undeniable raw energy to the Sex Pistols’ music. His aggressive playing style and distinctive look helped to solidify the band’s place in punk rock history. Tragically, Vicious’s life was cut short at the young age of 21, following the untimely death of Spungen. While his time in the spotlight was brief, Sid Vicious left an indelible mark on the music world. His rebellious spirit and punk rock attitude continue to inspire generations of musicians and fans alike.
