Nicholas McGegan and the SCO (Scottish Chamber Orchestra) are back at it again, this time with Handel's "Music For The Royal Fireworks" and "Water Music." I mean, who doesn't love a good royal celebration, am I right?
The orchestration on this album is straight-up fire (pun intended). McGegan's interpretation of Handel's iconic compositions is as sharp as the Queen's manners, with each note serving as a reminder of the pomp and circumstance of the 18th century British court.
"Music For The Royal Fireworks" is a regal affair, with grandiose trumpets and majestic strings painting a picture of velvet-clad nobles sipping tea and nibbling on cucumber sandwiches.
