Our Take
Ah, Playboi Carti - the self-proclaimed king of mumble rap. His latest album, aptly titled MUSIC, is a rollercoaster of trap beats, adlibs, and lyrics that range from nonsensical to confusingly profound. From the opening track, Carti's signature high-pitched flow grabs your attention and refuses to let go. It's like listening to a hyperactive toddler on a sugar rush, but somehow it works. The production on this album is top-notch, with banging 808s and ethereal synths that create a dreamy, otherworldly atmosphere. Tracks like "Vamp Anthem" and "Rockstar Made" showcase Carti's ability to create addictive hooks that will have you bopping your head for days on end. However, the album does have its misses - "Sky" featuring Kanye West falls flat, with cringe-worthy lyrics and a forgettable beat. Overall, MUSIC is a fun ride that showcases Carti's unique style and infectious energy. It may not be for everyone, but if you're a fan of trap music and don't take yourself too seriously, this album is definitely worth a listen.
