Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers

Born in 1919, Art Blakey was a jazz drummer extraordinaire, known for his pioneering work in Bebop and Hard Bop. He founded the influential band The Jazz Messengers in 1954, which became a breeding ground for some of the greatest talents in jazz. Blakey's explosive drumming style, often described as "controlled chaos", provided the backbone for the band's dynamic sound.
