Our Take

RO RO's debut album, Meet At The Waterin', is a strange and beguiling journey through a sonic landscape that feels both familiar and alien. With their blend of electronic beats, haunting vocals, and unexpected instrumentation, RO RO manages to create a sound that is both avant-garde and accessible.

From the opening track, "Waterin' Hole," with its pulsating bassline and ethereal vocals, to the closing notes of "Moonlit Dance Party," with its dreamy synths and catchy hooks, RO RO takes the listener on a rollercoaster ride of emotions and textures.

Throughout the album, there are moments of pure genius, such as the glitchy breakdown in "Drownin' In Love" or the shimmering guitars in "Under The Stars." But there are also moments of confusion and chaos, such as the cacophony of sound in "Lost In The Fog" or the disjointed rhythms of "Sink or Swim."

Overall, Meet At The Waterin' is a bold and ambitious statement from RO RO. While not every track hits the mark, there is a sense of experimentation and creativity that is refreshing in today's music scene. RO RO may not be everyone's cup of tea, but for those willing to dive deep into their strange and wonderful world, there are rewards to be found.
