Ahoy there, me hearties! Avast ye, for I be diving deep into the latest plunder from RUNNING WILD, with their swashbuckling new album "Masquerade" setting sail on the high seas of metal.
From the moment the album kicks off with the thunderous drums and blazing guitars of “The Contract/The Seal,” it’s clear that RUNNING WILD are not here to walk the plank quietly. Frontman Rolf Kasparek leads the charge with his signature snarling vocals, while the band’s trademark blend of power metal and pirate themes keep the grog flowing.
Tracks like “Black Gold” and “Lions of the Sea” are a treasure trove of catchy hooks and maritime melodies, guaranteed to have you hoisting the Jolly Roger and singing along. The band’s musicianship is as tight as a mermaid’s corset, with blistering guitar solos and pounding rhythms that could shiver your timbers.
However, not every song hits the mark, with a few tracks feeling like they’ve been marooned on a desert island. But fear not, me hearties, for RUNNING WILD quickly get back on course with crowd-pleasers like “Firebreather” and “Run Riot,” which will have you stomping your peg leg in no time.
