Our Take

Slaughter & The Dogs burst back onto the scene with their latest offering, "Manchester 101," and it's safe to say the punk rock veterans haven't lost their bite.

From the opening track "Manchester Boy" to the closing anthem "We Are Slaughter," this album is a relentless assault on the senses, in the best possible way. The band's trademark snarling vocals and lightning-fast guitar riffs are as fierce as ever, reminding listeners why they were one of the pioneers of the punk movement in the late 70s.

But don't be fooled by the band's vintage - they may have been around the block a few times, but they've still got plenty of gas left in the tank. Tracks like "Sick Of Being Sick" and "Where Have All The Bootboys Gone" are dripping with angst and attitude, while "Crank It Up" is a ferocious punk anthem that will have you pogoing around your living room in no time.

Overall, "Manchester 101" is a must-listen for any fan of punk rock or anyone looking to inject some energy into their playlist. Slaughter & The Dogs have proven once again that they are a force to be reckoned with, and this album is a testament to their enduring talent and passion for their craft. Put on your leather jacket, turn up the volume, and get ready to be blown away by this blistering record. Long live punk rock!

About the artist

Slaughter & the Dogs

Ah, SLAUGHTER & THE DOGS, the pioneers of punk rock from Manchester who have been tearing up stages since the mid-70s. These lads are the epitome of raw energy and unapologetic attitude, a true force to be reckoned with in the music scene. Formed in 1975, SLAUGHTER & THE DOGS quickly made a name for themselves with their fast-paced, aggressive sound and their wild, chaotic live performances. Lead vocalist Wayne Barrett's snarling vocals and guitarist Mick Rossi's blistering riffs are a match made in punk rock heaven, creating a sound that is as ferocious as it is infectious. Their debut album, "Do It Dog Style", released in 1978, is a punk rock classic that has stood the test of time. Tracks like "Where Have All the Boot Boys Gone" and "Dame to Blame" are anthems of rebellion and youthful defiance, capturing the spirit of the punk movement in all its glory. Despite their tumultuous journey with lineup changes and hiatuses, SLAUGHTER & THE DOGS have never lost their edge. Their latest album, "Vicious", released in 2016, is a testament to their enduring spirit and musical prowess. From the blistering opener "Scream and Scream Again" to the anthemic closer "Joy Joy Joy", the album is a rollercoaster ride of punk rock energy that will leave you breathless. SLAUGHTER & THE DOGS are a band that refuses to be pigeonholed or tamed, and that's what makes them so special. In a music industry that often values conformity over creativity, these lads are a breath of fresh air. So, do yourself a favour and crank up some SLAUGHTER & THE DOGS - you won't regret it.
