Album Review: Gillan - "Magic" If you thought Ian Gillan's vocal prowess peaked with his legendary tenure in Deep Purple, think again my sound-loving comrades. With "Magic", Gillan proves he's still got some surprises up his sleeve (or should I say vocal cords). From the moment the album kicks off with the electrifying track "Abracadabra", you're instantly transported to a world where rock 'n' roll meets a little bit of magic. The guitar riffs are as sharp as a magician's assistant's saw and Gillan's vocals soar higher than a levitating card trick. Tracks like "Presto Change-O" and "Illusionist's Dream" showcase Gillan's ability to switch effortlessly between melodic crooning and all-out rock screams, leaving listeners spellbound with every note. It's like watching a master magician pull a rabbit out of a hat, but with more headbanging. But it's not all smoke and mirrors with "Magic".
