Our Take
Our Take
After an agonizing 29-year wait, The Psychedelic Furs have finally blessed us with their long-awaited comeback album, "Made Of Rain." And let me tell you, it was worth the wait.
From the opening track, you can feel the decades of experience oozing out of Richard Butler's unmistakable voice. The man hasn't aged a day, and neither has the band's signature blend of post-punk and new wave goodness.
"Come All Ye Faithful" kicks things off with a sense of urgency, building to a crescendo that will have you jumping out of your seat. And if you thought they were just going to coast on nostalgia, think again. Tracks like "No-One" and "Don't Believe" prove that The Psychedelic Furs still have a few tricks up their sleeves.
But perhaps the standout moment on the album is "Tiny Hands." With its haunting melody and Butler's haunting vocals, it's a reminder of just how powerful this band can be when they're firing on all cylinders.
Sure, there are moments on "Made Of Rain" that feel a bit derivative, but when the music is this good, who cares? The Psychedelic Furs have crafted an album that will delight old fans and win over new ones. So grab your eyeliner, crank up the volume, and let the Furs take you on a journey through the decades. Trust me, you won't regret it.

About the artist
The Psychedelic Furs
PROFILE: PSYCHEDELIC FURS Hailing from the alleys of post-punk London, Psychedelic Furs are not your average band. With their distinctive blend of airy synths, dark lyrics, and chaotic energy, they have established themselves as pioneers of the new wave movement. Fronted by the enigmatic Richard Butler, whose gravelly voice cuts through the swirling music like a knife through butter, the band has a knack for crafting anthemic songs that stick in your head long after the last note has faded. Tracks like "Love My Way" and "Pretty in Pink" are virtually mandatory for any 80s playlist worth its salt. But it's not just their hits that set Psychedelic Furs apart. Their live shows are a spectacle to behold, with Butler prowling the stage like a man possessed, his shaggy hair flying in all directions as he howls into the mic. The rest of the band is no slouch either, with their tight musicianship and infectious energy keeping the crowd on their feet from start to finish. In a world where music seems to get more polished and predictable by the day, Psychedelic Furs are a welcome breath of fresh air. Their sound is raw, unapologetic, and utterly timeless, a reminder of a time when rock 'n' roll wasn't about image or hype, but about pure, unadulterated passion. So if you're looking for a band that will rock your socks off and leave you begging for more, look no further than Psychedelic Furs. Just make sure to bring your dancing shoes - you're going to need them.
