ALICE COOPER Love It To Death Review:
In the grand tradition of shock rock, Alice Cooper's Love It To Death is a gloriously sinister romp through the dark depths of the human psyche. From the opening track "Caught In A Dream", Cooper's wickedly theatrical vocals send shivers down your spine, as if he's whispering secrets only meant for the ears of the damned.
Throughout the album, Cooper weaves a tale of decadence, debauchery, and devilry, all set to a backdrop of catchy riffs and pounding drums that will have you headbanging in no time. Tracks like "I'm Eighteen" and "Long Way To Go" showcase Cooper's knack for crafting anthemic choruses that stick in your brain like a bad dream.
But it's not all darkness and doom – there's a playful, almost tongue-in-cheek quality to Cooper's lyrics that adds a touch of levity to the proceedings. Take the gleefully macabre "Black Juju", with its chanting vocals and ominous percussion, or the rollicking "Hallowed Be My Name", which wouldn't feel out of place in a carnival sideshow.
Love It To Death may be nearly 50 years old, but its blend of horror, humour, and hard rock still packs a punch. Cooper may be the king of shock rock, but with this album, he proves he's also a master of melody. So buckle up, dear listener, and prepare to be taken on a wild, twisted ride through the twisted mind of Alice Cooper. It's a journey you won't soon forget.
