In their self-titled debut album, Los Angeles Police Department takes us on a sonic journey through the gritty streets of LA with a lo-fi charm that is both endearing and raw.
The album opens with the dreamy track "Hollywood," setting the scene with its hazy guitar riffs and melancholic lyrics that paint a picture of disillusionment and longing. Frontman Ryan Pollie's haunting vocals float effortlessly over the lush instrumentals, creating a sense of nostalgia that is both comforting and bittersweet.
Tracks like "She Came Through (Again)" and "Old Skin" showcase Pollie's songwriting prowess, with their introspective lyrics and catchy melodies that linger long after the music has stopped.
