Our Take

The Strypes are back, lads and lasses, with their latest album "Little Victories" and let me tell you, it's a bloody masterpiece, innit? These Irish lads have been through the ringer, but they've come out swinging with an album that's chock-full of infectious energy and catchy hooks.

From the opening track, "Behind Closed Doors," the Strypes waste no time in getting your toe tapping and your head nodding. The groovy basslines and snappy drumming set the stage for lead singer Ross Farrelly's soulful vocals to take center stage. Tracks like "Eighty-Four" and "Scumbag City" are pure rock 'n' roll goodness, with blistering guitar riffs and lyrics that hit you right in the gut.

But it's not all high-energy bangers on this album. The Strypes show off their softer side on tracks like "Down at the Radiotron" and "3 Streets and A Village Green," where they showcase their songwriting chops and ability to craft a heartfelt ballad.

Overall, "Little Victories" is a triumph for The Strypes, proving that they're still at the top of their game. So grab a pint, crank up the volume, and let these lads take you on a wild ride through the streets of rock 'n' roll. Cheers, mates.

About the artist

The Strypes

The Strypes, the Irish rock band that burst onto the scene in 2012 with their infectious blend of retro flair and youthful energy, have quickly established themselves as one of the most exciting acts in the industry. Drawing inspiration from the likes of The Rolling Stones, The Yardbirds, and Dr. Feelgood, these lads from Cavan have managed to capture the hearts of music lovers worldwide with their raw, unapologetic sound. Fronted by the charismatic Ross Farrelly, with Josh McClorey delivering blistering guitar solos, Pete O'Hanlon holding down the bass, and Evan Walsh providing powerhouse drumming, The Strypes are a force to be reckoned with on stage. Their live performances are a riotous affair, with the band feeding off the energy of the crowd and delivering electrifying performances that leave audiences wanting more. With two critically acclaimed albums under their belt, Snapshot and Little Victories, The Strypes have proven themselves to be more than just a flash in the pan. Their latest release, Spitting Image, showcases a maturity and growth in their songwriting, while still retaining the raw energy that made them so beloved in the first place. In a music industry oversaturated with manufactured pop stars and cookie-cutter acts, The Strypes are a breath of fresh air. They are unapologetically themselves, and it's this authenticity that shines through in every note they play. With their infectious hooks, blistering guitar solos, and undeniable chemistry on stage, The Strypes are a band that is here to stay.
