Our Take

Ah, MANIC STREET PREACHERS, the band that has been making us ponder life's deep questions while simultaneously rocking out since the dawn of time (or at least since the 90s). Their latest offering, Lifeblood: 20th Anniversary, is a delicious nostalgia trip back to the days of yore when we were all angsty teens with questionable fashion choices.

The album kicks off with the brooding track "1985", which sets the tone for the rest of the record. It's like a time machine whisking us back to a simpler time when we thought we knew it all. The haunting melodies and melancholic lyrics hit you right in the feels, making you want to dig out your old diaries and cry into them.

But don't worry, things pick up from there with tracks like "Empty Souls" and "Rendition", injecting some much-needed energy into the album. The MANIC STREET PREACHERS haven't lost their edge, that's for sure.

Overall, Lifeblood: 20th Anniversary is a solid offering from the band. It's not groundbreaking or revolutionary, but it's a comforting reminder of why we fell in love with MANIC STREET PREACHERS in the first place. If you're a fan of the band, this album is a must-listen. And if you're not, well, what are you waiting for? Dive in and let the angst wash over you.

Manic Street Preachers

Manic Street Preachers are not your average rock band. Formed in Wales in 1986, the trio of James Dean Bradfield, Nicky Wire, and Sean Moore have been shaking up the music scene with their unique blend of punk, glam, and political activism for over three decades. With a discography that spans more than 14 studio albums, including classics like "The Holy Bible" and "Everything Must Go," the Manics have proven themselves to be true innovators in the world of rock. Their lyrics are often introspective and thought-provoking, tackling complex issues like mental health, consumerism, and political corruption with a raw, unflinching honesty. Known for their eclectic sound and fearless approach to songwriting, the Manic Street Preachers have never been afraid to push boundaries and challenge the status quo. From their early days playing underground clubs in Wales to headlining sold-out shows at Wembley Stadium, this band has always stayed true to themselves and their message. Whether you're a die-hard fan or just discovering their music for the first time, one thing is for certain: the Manic Street Preachers are a force to be reckoned with in the world of rock music.
