Our Take
Giant's debut album, "Last of the Runaways," is a big, bold, and bombastic slice of 80s rock that will transport you straight back to a time when hair was big, guitar solos were even bigger, and power ballads ruled the airwaves. From the moment you press play, it's clear that Giant aren't here to mess about. The opening track, "I'm a Believer," kicks things off with a stadium-sized riff that will have you reaching for your air guitar in no time. And that's just the beginning - with anthemic tracks like "Innocent Days" and "No Way Out," this album is a nostalgia trip of epic proportions. But don't be fooled by the cheesy lyrics and over-the-top production - there's real musical talent on display here. Vocalist Dann Huff has a set of pipes that could shatter glass, and the rest of the band are no slouches either. The guitar work is blistering, the drumming is thunderous, and the keyboard solos are gloriously excessive.
