Wham! - Last Christmas (★★★★☆) Ah, the nostalgic jingle of sleigh bells and George Michael's velvety vocals – it must be that time of year again. Wham!'s holiday classic "Last Christmas" gets a reissue just in time for the festive season, reminding us all why this 1984 gem has stood the test of time. From the opening notes of the iconic synth melody to the infectious chorus that will have you belting out "Last Christmas, I gave you my heart" at the top of your lungs, this album is a masterclass in feel-good pop. The bouncy basslines and shimmering production are as irresistible as ever, making it impossible not to tap your feet and sing along. While some may argue that the lyrics are a tad on the cheesy side, the sheer joy and exuberance with which George Michael delivers them is enough to make even the biggest Scrooge crack a smile.
