Our Take

"Portuguese heavy metal band ALKATEYA's latest album, Lastin, is a wild ride through the realms of power metal, thrash, and classic rock. With their bombastic riffs and soaring vocals, ALKATEYA manage to capture the essence of 80s metal while putting their own modern twist on it.

From the blistering opener 'Raging Flame' to the epic closer 'Warriors of the Dawn', Lastin is a non-stop assault on the senses that will leave you headbanging and air-guitaring for days. The guitar work on this album is absolutely shredding, with lightning-fast solos and crunchy riffs that will melt your face off.

Vocalist Helena Fagundes is a force to be reckoned with, belting out anthemic choruses and powerful melodies with the charisma of a true metal goddess. The lyrics may be a bit cheesy at times, but that's all part of the fun when it comes to power metal.

While ALKATEYA may not be reinventing the wheel with Lastin, they are certainly proving that they are a force to be reckoned with in the metal scene. Fans of bands like Iron Maiden and Judas Priest will find plenty to love here, as ALKATEYA deliver the goods with style and swagger.

In conclusion, Lastin is a metal masterpiece that will have you banging your head and raising your horns in salute. ALKATEYA may not be household names yet, but with albums like this, they are well on their way to becoming legends in their own right."

About the artist

Alkateya

The name ALKATEYA may not immediately ring a bell, but this Portugal-based heavy metal band is not one to be overlooked. With a sound that blends elements of power metal, thrash, and traditional heavy metal, ALKATEYA brings a refreshing twist to the metal scene. Lead vocalist and guitarist J.P. has a voice that can shatter eardrums and melt faces in equal measure, while the rest of the band - including guitarist Hugo, bassist DJ and drummer Pedro - bring a level of technical prowess that is simply unmatched. Their live shows are nothing short of electrifying, with each member giving it their all on stage. But what sets ALKATEYA apart from other metal bands is their penchant for storytelling. Each song is like a chapter in a grand epic, filled with tales of warriors, dragons, and mystical realms. It's like listening to a heavy metal version of Game of Thrones, and it's bloody brilliant. And let's not forget about their fashion sense. ALKATEYA's stage outfits are a sight to behold, with leather, spikes, and studs aplenty. They look like they've stepped right out of a Judas Priest music video, and we can't get enough of it. So, if you're looking for a band that will transport you to another world with their music, look no further than ALKATEYA. They may not be a household name just yet, but mark our words - they're on the brink of something big.
