Our Take
Our Take
In a world full of mundane pop offerings, Knightstown's self-titled debut album is a breath of fresh air - or should I say, a gust of wind full of sparkles and glitterballs. This British electronic artist effortlessly weaves intricate melodies and lush production, creating a sonic landscape that transports you to a euphoric dance party in outer space.
From the dreamy opener "First Cry" to the pulsating beats of "Eyes Open Wide," Knightstown demonstrates a mastery of mood and texture that is both enchanting and exhilarating. The album is a rollercoaster ride of emotions, with tracks like "Charlatan" and "Keep" showcasing Knightstown's ability to effortlessly blend vulnerability with assertiveness.
But what truly sets Knightstown apart is his undeniable sense of humour. On "Bitter End," he cheekily explores the bitter aftermath of a breakup, turning heartache into a catchy anthem. And on "Cardinal," he playfully teases the listener with a hypnotic chorus that will have you singing along in no time.
In a world where authenticity can often feel like a rare commodity, Knightstown is a shining beacon of sincerity. His infectious energy and unapologetic creativity are bound to leave you grinning from ear to ear. So go ahead, press play, and let Knightstown sweep you off your feet on a whimsical journey through sound and spirit.

About the artist
Knightstown
Hailing from South London, KNIGHTSTOWN is the musical alter ego of producer and songwriter Michael Aston. With a background in classical music, Aston combines orchestral elements with electronic beats to create a unique sound that is both emotive and danceable. Having burst onto the scene in 2017 with his self-titled debut album, KNIGHTSTOWN has since amassed a dedicated following thanks to his captivating live performances and infectious melodies. Drawing influence from the likes of James Blake and Bon Iver, Aston's music is a seamless blend of indie pop and electronica, with a touch of neo-soul thrown in for good measure. One listen to KNIGHTSTOWN's latest single "Eyes Open Wide" and you'll be hooked. The haunting vocals, pulsating synths, and driving beats come together to create a sonic landscape that is at once intimate and expansive. It's the kind of track that will have you dancing in your bedroom one minute and crying in the club the next. But don't let his melancholic lyrics fool you - KNIGHTSTOWN is as quirky as they come. Whether he's cracking jokes on stage or posting hilarious memes on social media, Aston's infectious personality shines through in everything he does. Plus, with a wardrobe that could rival Elton John's, KNIGHTSTOWN is as much a fashion icon as he is a musical genius. So if you're looking for a dose of heartfelt lyrics, irresistible hooks, and a touch of British charm, look no further than KNIGHTSTOWN. Trust us, you won't be disappointed.
