Our Take

If I had a pound for every time someone asked me how to pronounce TANDL / JOBSTL, I could probably afford to buy this album on vinyl. But despite the tongue-twister of a title, this eclectic collection of works by Rebecca Clarke, Franz Schubert, Betsy Jolas, and more is worth every penny.

The album kicks off with Clarke's hauntingly beautiful Viola Sonata, a real gem in her repertoire. The performers, TANDL and JOBSTL, bring out all the nuances of Clarke's composition, creating an atmosphere that is at once mysterious and intimate.
