Our Take

John Burgess, also known as the "King of the Highland Pipers," has certainly stirred up some bagpipe chaos with his latest album. From the first note of "Loch Lomond" to the final drone of "The Bonnie Banks o' Loch Lomond," Burgess takes us on a journey through the Scottish countryside with his expertly crafted tunes. The production on this album is as crisp and clean as a freshly ironed kilt, with each note ringing out as clear as a highland spring. Burgess's mastery of the bagpipes is evident in every track, from the toe-tapping "Skye Boat Song" to the haunting "Flowers of the Forest." But it's not all traditional tunes on "King of the Highland Pipers." Burgess showcases his versatility with a rousing rendition of "Scotland the Brave" that will have you ready to march into battle (or the nearest pub). Overall, John Burgess has once again proven why he reigns supreme in the world of Scottish bagpiping. So grab a dram of whisky, don your tartan, and get ready to be transported to the misty moors and craggy cliffs of bonnie Scotland with "King of the Highland Pipers." Trust us, you won't be disappointed.
