Our Take

Every now and then, an album comes along that makes you question everything you thought you knew about music. "TWANG It Feels Like (You're Wasting My Time) / Tinseltown In The Rain" is not one of those albums. In fact, it's the musical equivalent of a soggy chip - disappointing, uninspired, and ultimately forgettable.

From the moment the first twangy notes hit your eardrums, you can't help but wonder if you accidentally stumbled into a bad 80s movie montage. The title track, "TWANG It Feels Like (You're Wasting My Time)," is a cacophony of cheesy synths and lacklustre vocals that leaves you feeling like you've wasted your own time just by listening to it.

And just when you think it can't get any worse, along comes "Tinseltown In The Rain," a song so overwrought with melodrama that it makes a soap opera look subtle. The lyrics are trite, the instrumentation is bland, and the overall vibe is about as appealing as a soggy scone.
