Our Take

Intellexual's self-titled debut album is a whimsical journey through the minds of two musical masterminds, Nico Segal and Nate Fox. With their eclectic blend of jazz, funk, and R&B, this duo manages to create a sonic landscape that is as captivating as it is infectious.

From the funky basslines of "Roxstar" to the smooth grooves of "Popstar," Intellexual showcases Segal and Fox's effortless ability to seamlessly blend genres and create music that is truly unique. Tracks like "Shotty" and "Friction" are standouts, with their catchy hooks and clever lyrics showcasing the duo's playful side.

However, not every track on the album hits the mark. "Grass" and "Shoulda Known" feel a bit too experimental for their own good, lacking the cohesiveness that makes the rest of the album so enjoyable.

Overall, Intellexual's debut album is a fun and quirky addition to the R&B landscape, showcasing the duo's undeniable talent and knack for creating infectious melodies.
