Our Take
Editors are back with their fifth studio album, In Dream, and it's like a rollercoaster ride through a haunted house - thrilling, unpredictable, and at times a little bit disorienting.
The band's signature blend of post-punk and dark synthpop is on full display here, with frontman Tom Smith's brooding vocals cutting through the atmospheric production like a chainsaw through butter. From the pulsating rhythms of "No Harm" to the haunting melodies of "Ocean of Night," Editors have crafted an album that is as catchy as it is creepy.
But it's not all doom and gloom on In Dream. Tracks like "Life is a Fear" and "All the Kings" inject a dose of optimism into the mix, offering a glimmer of hope amidst the darkness. And let's not forget the stunning duet with Rachel Goswell of Slowdive on "The Law."
