Our Take

Everclear's latest album "In A Different Light" sees the band taking a new direction - and boy, is it a bumpy ride. The album kicks off with a radio-friendly single that sounds like it's trying a bit too hard to be relevant in today's ever-changing music landscape.

Lead singer Art Alexakis's vocals are as distinctive as ever, but it's clear that the band is struggling to find their footing with this new sound. The lyrics often come off as forced and cliche, with phrases like "I'm never gonna let you go" feeling like they were lifted straight from a cheesy rom-com script.
