Our Take
Crystal Castles' "iii" is a dizzying whirlwind of glitchy beats, haunting vocals, and ethereal melodies. From the ominous opener "Plague" to the frenetic closer "Child I Will Hurt You", Crystal Castles take listeners on a rollercoaster ride of emotions. Tracks like "Wrath of God" and "Violent Youth" showcase the duo's ability to blend noise and melody in a way that is both jarring and beautiful. Lead vocalist Alice Glass's haunting vocals add a layer of darkness to the album, with her whispered verses and piercing screams creating an atmosphere of unease and tension.
