Our Take

Swedish gothic post-punk band True Moon is back with their sophomore album, appropriately titled "II (Clear Vinyl)". But is this release a clear winner, or just a transparent attempt at relevance?

From the opening track, "Restless Summer", True Moon immediately transports listeners to a haunted beach party where the ghosts of Joy Division and Siouxsie Sioux are the DJs. The guitars are angular, the bass is brooding, and the vocals are as icy as a Scandinavian winter.

Lead singer Karolina Engdahl's haunting voice cuts through the mix like a knife, guiding the listener through tales of heartbreak, longing, and existential dread. Tracks like "Sugar" and "Poison" showcase the band's knack for crafting catchy hooks that stick in your head like a curse.
