Our Take
Our Take
Ah, Whitney Houston, the queen of vocal acrobatics, graces us once again with her powerhouse vocals on The Bodyguard soundtrack. This iconic album is as timeless as ever, showcasing Houston's incredible range and emotional depth.
From the moment she belts out those first few notes on "I Will Always Love You," you know you're in for a treat. The sheer power and soulfulness in her voice will send shivers down your spine and have you reaching for the nearest tissue box.
But it's not just Houston's vocals that shine on this album. The production is slick and polished, with every track sounding like it was tailor-made for her. The smooth R&B grooves on songs like "I'm Every Woman" and "Queen of the Night" will have you dancing in your living room, while the heartfelt ballads like "Run to You" will have you in tears.
The only downside to this album? It's just too short! With only 12 tracks, you'll find yourself hitting repeat over and over again, wishing there were more gems to discover. But hey, quality over quantity, right?
Overall, The Bodyguard soundtrack is a masterclass in vocally-driven pop music, with Whitney Houston at the top of her game. So go ahead, dim the lights, pour yourself a glass of red wine, and let her soulful voice wash over you. You won't regret it. Trust us.

About the artist
Whitney Houston
Whitney Houston: Queen of the Vocal Olympics If vocal cords were Olympic events, Whitney Houston would have more gold medals than Michael Phelps. With a range that could shatter glass and power that could move mountains, Houston is undeniably one of the greatest vocalists of all time. Born in Newark, New Jersey in 1963, Houston was destined for stardom from a young age. The daughter of gospel singer Cissy Houston and cousin of legendary singer Dionne Warwick, music ran through her veins. But it was her powerhouse voice and unparalleled ability to emote that truly set her apart. Houston's self-titled debut album, released in 1985, catapulted her to superstardom with hits like "Greatest Love of All" and "Saving All My Love for You." From then on, she dominated the charts with timeless classics like "I Will Always Love You" and "I Wanna Dance with Somebody." Despite her undeniable talent, Houston's personal struggles often overshadowed her music. Her tumultuous relationship with Bobby Brown and battles with addiction were well-documented in the tabloids. But through it all, her voice remained a beacon of light in a sometimes dark world. Tragically, Houston's life was cut short in 2012 at the age of 48. But her legacy lives on through her iconic music, which continues to inspire and uplift listeners around the world. Whitney Houston may be gone, but her voice will forever remain immortal. Rest in power, queen of the vocal Olympics.
