Our Take
Review: It's that time of year again, folks! The smell of mulled wine in the air, the twinkling lights on the tree, and of course, the creepy uncle hitting on the bartender at the office Christmas party. And what better soundtrack to all this festive cheer than the latest holiday compilation, "I Wanna Trim Your Tree"? Featuring a motley crew of artists from all corners of the music world, this album is a mixed bag of musical delights. From the cheeky innuendos of "Santa Baby, You've Been Naughty" by The Purrfect Pussycats to the classic carol covers with a twist, there's something for everyone on this record. The standout track has to be "Mistletoe Madness" by The Jingle Belles. With its infectious beat and catchy chorus, it's guaranteed to have you bopping around the Christmas tree with Aunt Mildred in no time. However, not everything on this album hits the mark. The reimagining of "Silent Night" as a dubstep rave anthem by DJ Frosty the Snowman left us scratching our heads and wondering if our ears had been naughty this year. Overall, "I Wanna Trim Your Tree" is a fun and festive romp through the world of Christmas music. It may not be a classic, but it's sure to bring a smile to your face and get you in the holiday spirit. Just maybe skip track 12 if you're trying to avoid awkward conversations with Grandma about what "Netflix and chill" really means.
