Our Take
Our Take
As I dropped the needle on this grey smoke vinyl edition of Creed's "Human Clay," I couldn't help but feel a wave of nostalgia wash over me. Ah, the early 2000s, a time when questionable fashion choices and even more questionable rock bands reigned supreme.
But let's set aside our preconceived notions and dive into the music itself. From the opening chords of "Are You Ready," it's clear that Creed have a knack for crafting anthemic, stadium-ready rock tunes. Scott Stapp's gravelly vocals soar over Mark Tremonti's crunchy guitar riffs, creating a sound that is both familiar and strangely comforting.
Tracks like "With Arms Wide Open" and "Higher" are prime examples of Creed's ability to deliver heartfelt, emotive ballads that pack a punch. Say what you will about their lyrical content, but Stapp's passionate delivery cannot be denied.
Of course, it wouldn't be a Creed album without a healthy dose of religious imagery and spiritual themes. Whether you find it inspiring or off-putting, there's no denying the band's commitment to their message.
Overall, "Human Clay" may not be the most groundbreaking or original album out there, but sometimes a bit of nostalgia and a good old-fashioned rock anthem are just what the doctor ordered. So go ahead, embrace your inner early 2000s rocker and give this album a spin. You might just find yourself belting out the chorus to "With Arms Wide Open" with reckless abandon.

About the artist
Creed
At first glance, CREED might seem like just another alternative rock band trying to make it big. But upon closer inspection, you'll find that this Leeds-based trio is anything but ordinary. Formed in 2015, CREED quickly gained a reputation for their infectious melodies, clever lyrics, and killer live shows. Frontman Finn Grayson's charismatic stage presence and powerhouse vocals are matched only by the virtuosic guitar playing of lead guitarist Ellie White. And let's not forget about drummer Max Thompson, whose thunderous beats anchor the band's sound with precision and flair. But what really sets CREED apart from their peers is their fearless approach to genre blending. Drawing inspiration from a diverse range of musical influences - from classic rock to post-punk to electronica - the band effortlessly weaves together elements from different genres to create a sound that is uniquely their own. On their latest album, "Electric Dreams," CREED pushes the boundaries even further, experimenting with intricate rhythms, lush synthesizers, and unexpected sonic textures. The result is a collection of songs that are both introspective and anthemic, inviting listeners to dance, cry, and everything in between. With a growing fanbase and critical acclaim to match, CREED is poised to take the music world by storm. Keep an eye on these rising stars - they're just getting started.
