Our Take
Our Take
Upon first listen to SURVIVAL CODE's latest offering, "Hopelessness Of People," one can't help but feel a wave of cynicism wash over them. The band's fearless exploration of the human condition is as raw and unapologetic as ever, delivering a sucker punch straight to the gut.
From the opening track, "Existential Crisis Blues," it's clear that SURVIVAL CODE aren't here to sugarcoat anything. The gritty vocals, wailing guitars, and pounding drums create a sense of urgency that demands your attention. As the album progresses, themes of disillusionment, isolation, and despair are woven into every lyric and instrumental break.
Tracks like "Societal Collapse Shuffle" and "Despair in D Minor" showcase the band's ability to tackle heavy subject matter with a sense of dark humour and wit. The relentless energy of songs like "Hope is Dead" and "Life's a Bummer" make it impossible to remain indifferent.
However, it's not all doom and gloom on "Hopelessness Of People." SURVIVAL CODE also offer moments of reflection and introspection, like on the hauntingly beautiful "Lost in the Void" and the introspective "Searching for Meaning."
Overall, "Hopelessness Of People" is a masterclass in blending raw emotion with no-holds-barred rock'n'roll. SURVIVAL CODE have once again proven why they are a force to be reckoned with in the music industry. This album is a must-listen for anyone who appreciates music that challenges, provokes, and ultimately, inspires.
