Ah, The Ditch and The Delta. They sound less like a band and more like a rejected title for a Rosie and Jim reboot. But don't be fooled by the whimsical name, because their latest album "Hives In Decline" is anything but child's play.
From the moment the opening track kicks in, you're hit with a wall of sludgy, distorted guitars that sound like they've been dragged through a swamp. It's like being trapped in a sauna with a doom metal band - heavy, intense, and probably not great for your long-term hearing.
But don't let the noise scare you off. There's a method to the madness here, with intricate layers of feedback and dissonance intertwining to create a chaotic yet strangely hypnotic sound.
