Our Take
Our Take
HELLBASTARD's latest offering, "Heading For Internal Darkness," is a rollercoaster ride through the depths of hell and back. This album is a sonic assault on the senses, with a raw energy that is both exhilarating and terrifying. The band's unique blend of thrash metal and punk rock creates a sound that is both familiar and fresh, with each track delivering a punch to the gut that leaves you reeling.
From the opening chords of "Swarm of Vultures" to the closing notes of "Internal Darkness," HELLBASTARD takes listeners on a wild journey through the darkest corners of the human psyche. The frenetic guitar riffs and thunderous drumming create a wall of sound that is impossible to ignore, drawing you in and refusing to let go.
Lyrically, the band pulls no punches, tackling themes of corruption, hypocrisy, and existential dread with a grim sense of humour that is both unsettling and cathartic. Songs like "Civilized" and "We The Helpless" paint a bleak picture of a society in freefall, while tracks like "Dance of the Damned" and "Last Gig in Blackpool" offer a glimmer of hope in the face of overwhelming darkness.
Overall, "Heading For Internal Darkness" is a bold and uncompromising statement from a band that refuses to play by the rules. HELLBASTARD's fierce attitude and blistering sound make this album a must-listen for fans of extreme music. Just be prepared to have your senses shattered in the process.

About the artist
Hellbastard
Hellbastard, the legendary crossover thrash band hailing from Newcastle, are not for the faint-hearted. With a name like that, you know you're in for a wild ride. Formed in the late 1980s, these guys have been tearing up stages with their intense energy and aggressive sound ever since. Lead singer Scruff (yes, that's his real name) commands the crowd with his raw vocals and no-holds-barred attitude. Guitarist Axeman shreds like a man possessed, while bassist Chainsaw and drummer Thunder provide the thunderous backbone to the band's apocalyptic sound. Their latest album, "Carnage Reigns Supreme", is a brutal assault on the senses. From the crushing riffs of "Doomsday Debauchery" to the blistering drums of "Hellbound and Hammered", Hellbastard show no mercy in their musical onslaught. But don't let their intense sound fool you - these lads have a wicked sense of humour too. Just check out their music videos for a taste of their dark, twisted antics. In a world where music is often watered down and over-produced, Hellbastard are a refreshing throwback to the raw, unapologetic spirit of true thrash metal. So grab a beer, throw up the horns, and prepare to be blown away by the sonic chaos that is Hellbastard.
