Our Take

On their latest offering, "Hazelin," DUKES OF CHUTNEY deliver a whimsical journey through a sonic wonderland that is equal parts innovative and perplexing. The album opens with the title track, a cacophony of chirping birds, clanging pots and pans, and what sounds like a distant llama in distress. It's a bold choice for an opener, setting the tone for the rest of the record's eclectic soundscapes.

Tracks like "Marmalade Sunset" and "Lemon Squeeze" showcase the band's knack for blending traditional Indian instrumentation with futuristic beats, creating a sound that is both nostalgic and forward-thinking.
