Our Take

KASABIAN have always been a band that seems to hover on the brink of greatness, like a drunken uncle at a family wedding. With their latest album, "Happenings," they continue this trend with a mix of hits and misses that will have you scratching your head in confusion one moment and jumping around the room in glee the next.

From the opening track, "Good Times," with its infectious groove and sing-along chorus, you can tell that KASABIAN are still masters of creating anthems that stick in your head like gum on your shoe. But then they veer off course with the psychedelic sounds of "Aliens," which feels like a spaceship crashing into a disco party.

In true KASABIAN fashion, they manage to find their footing again with the sleek and sexy "Midnight Sun," a track that oozes swagger and confidence. And just when you think you've got them figured out, they hit you with the curveball of "Space Cadet," a bizarre mix of electro-pop and punk rock that shouldn't work but somehow does.

Overall, "Happenings" is a mixed bag of hits and misses that will leave you wondering what planet KASABIAN are from. But one thing is for sure, they sure know how to keep you on your toes and make you dance like a loon.

About the artist

Kasabian

Kasabian: The Leicester lads who never fail to bring the party with their electrifying rock anthems and larger-than-life personalities. With a career spanning over two decades, this quartet has firmly established themselves as one of the UK's biggest musical exports. Formed in 1997, Kasabian burst onto the scene in the early 2000s with their debut album, which brought a much-needed breath of fresh air to the Britpop scene. Since then, they have continued to push boundaries and experiment with their sound, seamlessly blending rock, electronic, and psychedelic influences to create a sound that is uniquely their own. Frontman Tom Meighan's swagger and charisma are matched only by guitarist Serge Pizzorno's impressive musical chops, creating a dynamic duo that never fails to captivate audiences worldwide. And let's not forget bassist Chris Edwards and drummer Ian Matthews, whose tight rhythms and infectious energy provide the backbone that propels Kasabian's music to new heights. Whether they're headlining major festivals or selling out arenas, Kasabian always deliver an unforgettable live experience that leaves fans begging for more. Their infectious energy and larger-than-life performances have earned them a reputation as one of the best live acts around, with their shows often feeling more like raucous parties than traditional concerts. So if you're looking for a band that knows how to have a good time and leave a lasting impression, look no further than Kasabian. With their eclectic sound, high-octane performances, and larger-than-life personalities, these British rockers are sure to leave you wanting more. Don't miss out on the party – join Kasabian on their musical journey and experience the ride of a lifetime.
