Our Take

In a time when shoulder pads were bigger than our dreams and neon was the new black, Yes took to the stage in Stuttgart, Germany on May 31st, 1991, to remind us all why they're the kings of progressive rock. The Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle was packed to the rafters with fans eagerly awaiting their dose of virtuosic musicianship and complex song structures. From the moment Jon Anderson's ethereal vocals floated through the air, it was clear that this was going to be a night to remember. The band's tight musicianship and intricate arrangements kept the audience spellbound, their fingers flying across their instruments with the precision of a Swiss watchmaker. Tracks like "Owner of a Lonely Heart" and "Roundabout" were met with thunderous applause, the audience singing along to every word like their lives depended on it. Steve Howe's guitar work was nothing short of mesmerizing, his solos sending shivers down the spines of all in attendance. But it wasn't just the music that made this concert special. Yes's stage presence was nothing short of captivating, with Anderson prancing around like a woodland fairy and Rick Wakeman unleashing his keyboard wizardry like a mad professor. In conclusion, Yes's performance in Stuttgart was a masterclass in progressive rock perfection. If you missed this show, I pity you. Yes may have been around for decades, but on this night, they proved that they're still at the top of their game. Long live prog rock!
