Zakk Sabbath, hailing from Birmingham, have undoubtedly made a name for themselves when it comes to iconic riffage. Their latest album, "Greatest Riffs," is a love letter to the power of the riff, with plenty of nods to the titans of heavy metal.
From the moment you press play, you're hit with a wall of sound that is as heavy as it is gripping. Zakk Wylde's guitar work is nothing short of mesmerising, with each riff cutting through the mix like a hot knife through butter. Whether it's the thunderous opening riff of "War Pigs" or the frenetic energy of "Iron Man," Zakk Sabbath deliver riff after riff that will have you headbanging in no time.
However, the album is not without its flaws. At times, the sheer number of riffs packed into each track can feel overwhelming, leaving little room for the songs to breathe. Additionally, while Zakk Wylde's guitar work is undeniably impressive, there are moments where it verges on self-indulgent.
