Six Feet Under Graveyard Classics III is a ghoulishly delightful romp through the graveyard of classic rock and metal hits. This album, the third installment in the band's Graveyard Classics series, sees them reimagining iconic tracks from artists such as Iron Maiden, Motorhead, and Judas Priest in their own uniquely gruesome style.
From the opening track, a bone-chilling rendition of AC/DC's "TNT," Six Feet Under waste no time in establishing their macabre aesthetic. Frontman Chris Barnes' growling vocals perfectly complement the band's heavy, down-tuned riffs, creating a sound that is simultaneously haunting and headbang-worthy.
Standout tracks include their cover of Black Sabbath's "Sweet Leaf," which takes the original's sludgy groove and cranks it up to eleven, and their eerie interpretation of Thin Lizzy's "Jailbreak," which adds a sinister edge to the classic rock anthem.
While some purists may scoff at the idea of reinterpreting these beloved songs, Six Feet Under manage to pay homage to the original artists while putting their own twisted spin on the material. Graveyard Classics III is a dark delight for fans of both classic metal and horror cinema, and is sure to send shivers down your spine and a devilish grin to your face. With this album, Six Feet Under prove once again that they are the masters of the macabre and the graveyard grooves.
