Golden State Lone Star Blues Revue's self-titled album is a gritty, no-holds-barred journey into the heart of blues music. With a lineup boasting seasoned veterans like Mark Hummel and Anson Funderburgh, it's no surprise that this album is a masterclass in the genre.
From the opening track "Cool to Be Kind", it's clear that these musicians know how to lay down a groove. The way that Hummel's harmonica weaves in and out of Funderburgh's searing guitar licks is nothing short of mesmerising. It's like watching two old friends trading stories on a porch at sunset.
