Our Take
Suicidal Tendencies, the punk/metal band that brought you such classics as "Institutionalized" and "You Can't Bring Me Down," are back with their latest EP, "Get Your Fight On!" And boy, do they bring the fight. From the very first track, the energy is relentless, hitting you like a punch to the face from a mosh pit veteran. Lead singer Mike Muir delivers his trademark snarl with gusto, reminding us why he's one of the most iconic voices in crossover thrash. The rest of the band - including guitarist Dean Pleasants, bassist Ra Diaz, and drummer Dave Lombardo - are firing on all cylinders, creating a wall of sound that is as tight as a pair of skinny jeans on a hipster. The title track, "Get Your Fight On!" is a rallying cry for the disenchanted and the angry, with its anthemic chorus and furious riffage. "Now's the Time" slows things down a bit, giving us a chance to catch our breath before diving headfirst back into the chaos. Overall, "Get Your Fight On!" is a blistering EP that proves Suicidal Tendencies are still as relevant and powerful as ever. So grab your skateboard, put on your bandana, and get ready to mosh like it's 1983. 8.5/10.
