Our Take

LOVERBOY's latest offering, "Get Lucky," is a rollercoaster ride of cheesy '80s synth-pop nostalgia that will have you grooving and cringing in equal measure. The Canadian band's third album is a mixed bag of sonic experiments, from the infectious earworm of the title track to the cringeworthy lyrics of "Love at First Sight."

Lead singer Johnny Heartthrob's vocals are as smooth as silk, effortlessly gliding over the upbeat, danceable rhythms that define the album. His falsetto on tracks like "Heartbreaker" and "Summer Love" is enough to make even the most cynical listener swoon.
