Our Take

Ah, The Troggs. What can we say about these cheeky chaps from Andover? Their debut album "From Nowhere" bursts onto the scene with all the subtlety of a sledgehammer to the eardrums. And we mean that in the best possible way.

From the moment the first distorted chords of "Lost Girl" kick in, you know you're in for a wild ride. These lads have a raw energy that's infectious, and a swagger that can't be faked. Tracks like "Wild Thing" and "With a Girl Like You" are pure rock 'n' roll goodness, with catchy hooks and a sense of rebellion that's impossible to resist.

But it's not all just mindless fun and games. The Troggs show some surprising depth on tracks like "I Want You" and "66-5-4-3-2-1", where they explore themes of love and longing with a sincerity that's unexpected but welcome. And when they slow things down on "Feelin' In My Heart" and "I Can't Control Myself", you can hear the tenderness underneath all that bravado.
