Our Take

The LATHUMS’ debut album, “From Nothing To A Little Bit More”, is like a breath of fresh air in the stuffy room of mainstream music. Hailing from the charming town of Wigan, these lads have crafted a collection of tunes that ooze with witty lyrics, infectious melodies, and a healthy dose of Northern charm.

From the anthemic opener, “I See Your Face”, to the poignant title track, “From Nothing To A Little Bit More”, this album is a rollercoaster of emotions that will have you dancing one minute and crying into your pint the next. The band's knack for storytelling shines through on tracks like “Fight On” and “How Beautiful Life Can Be”, proving that they are more than just a bunch of cheeky chaps with guitars.

The LATHUMS' sound is a glorious mash-up of indie rock and Britpop influences, with nods to the likes of Oasis and The Stone Roses. But make no mistake, these lads are no copycats – they have a sound that is uniquely their own and it's damn good.

So do yourself a favour and give “From Nothing To A Little Bit More” a spin. It's the perfect soundtrack for those hazy summer nights, swigging pints with your mates and contemplating life's big questions. The LATHUMS may have started from nothing, but with this album, they've certainly made it to a little bit more. Cheers to that, lads.

About the artist

The Lathums

LATHUMS- The Nostalgic Wigan Wizards Hailing from the streets of Wigan, the Lathums are a band that oozes pure Northern charm, with a sound that takes you straight back to the Britpop heyday of the '90s. Formed in 2019, this four-piece outfit has been making waves in the UK music scene with their infectious melodies and poetic lyrics that resonate with listeners of all ages. Fronted by charismatic lead singer Alex Moore, the Lathums have a knack for crafting catchy tunes that stick in your head long after the final chord has faded. Their debut single "The Great Escape" was a radio hit, showcasing their ability to blend indie rock with a touch of nostalgia that feels refreshingly modern. Their live shows are a sight to behold, with Moore's energetic stage presence and the band's tight musicianship drawing comparisons to the likes of The Stone Roses and The Arctic Monkeys. With sold-out tours across the UK under their belt, the Lathums are proving themselves to be a force to be reckoned with in the British music scene. But don't be fooled by their retro sound - the Lathums are anything but a throwback act. Their lyrics tackle themes of love, loss, and the struggles of growing up in a small town, resonating with a new generation of music fans who are hungry for authenticity in a sea of manufactured pop. With a debut album on the horizon and a sound that's already captured the hearts of music lovers nationwide, the Lathums are a band to watch out for in 2021. So grab your parka, lace up your Doc Martens, and get ready to dance the night away with the Lathums - the next big thing in British indie music.
