Our Take
Our Take
In their latest album, "BAD LUCK Four," the band Fourin serves up a mishmash of genres that leaves listeners scratching their heads in confusion. From the chaotic clash of electronic beats to the meandering lyrics that border on nonsensical, this album is a true exercise in musical experimentation gone awry.
The opening track, "Unlucky Day," sets the tone for the rest of the album with its jarring combination of dissonant guitar riffs and off-kilter vocals. It's as if the band threw every musical idea they had into a blender and hit puree - the result is a sonic smoothie that's more vomit-inducing than refreshing.
Tracks like "Bad Vibes" and "Trouble Times" continue this trend of musical mayhem, with Fourin seemingly determined to test the limits of their audience's patience. At times, it feels like they are deliberately trying to alienate listeners with their disjointed soundscapes and nonsensical lyrics.
However, it's not all bad luck for Fourin. The album does have its moments of brilliance, particularly on the hauntingly beautiful ballad "Lucky Stars." Here, the band shows a more restrained side, allowing the emotional weight of the lyrics to shine through.
Overall, "BAD LUCK Four" is a mixed bag of musical madness that will either leave you scratching your head in bewilderment or reaching for the skip button. Fourin may have taken a risk with this album, but sometimes, bad luck is just bad luck.
