Our Take

Ho, ho, ho! What do we have here? Another album trying to make it in the big leagues, are we? Well, let me tell you, INVSN's "Forever Rejected" is about as rejected as my application to be Beyonce's back-up dancer. This Swedish punk rock band may have some fire in their bellies, but it's not quite enough to set the music world ablaze.

From the get-go, it's clear that INVSN have some serious angst to unleash. Tracks like "F**k You" and "Born To Be Wasted" are full of raw energy and rebellious spirit. But, unfortunately, that's about where the excitement ends. The rest of the album feels like a repetitive loop of the same old punk rock tropes - angry lyrics, aggressive guitars, and a whole lot of shouting.

Now, don't get me wrong, I love a good dose of punk rock as much as the next bloke. But "Forever Rejected" just doesn't quite hit the mark for me. The lack of diversity in the sound and the predictable song structures make for a pretty forgettable listening experience.

In the words of my dear old mum, "If you've heard one punk rock album, you've heard 'em all." And unfortunately, that sentiment rings all too true for INVSN's latest effort. Better luck next time, lads.
