Anthrax "For All Kings" review:
Anthrax, the thrash metal legends from New York City, are back with their latest assault on the eardrums, "For All Kings". This album is like a fine wine - it only gets better with age. With blistering riffs, thunderous drums, and aggressive vocals, Anthrax prove that they are still at the top of their game.
From the opening track "You Gotta Believe", it's clear that Anthrax mean business. The guitar work is absolutely ferocious, with riffs that could peel paint off the walls. Scott Ian and company have never sounded tighter, and it's clear that they've still got plenty of fire in their bellies.
Tracks like "Breathing Lightning" and "Suzerain" showcase Anthrax's ability to write catchy, melodic songs without sacrificing any of their heaviness. Joey Belladonna's vocals are as powerful as ever, soaring over the intricate guitar work with ease.
But it's not all thrash and aggression on "For All Kings". Anthrax show their versatility with tracks like "Blood Eagle Wings", a seven-minute epic that showcases the band's more epic, almost progressive side. It's a risky move, but one that pays off in spades.
Overall, "For All Kings" is a triumphant return for Anthrax. They may be getting older, but they show no signs of slowing down. Long live the kings of thrash!
