Ah, Buffalo Tom, the quintessential 90s alt-rock band that you probably forgot about until this very moment. Their new live album, "First Avenue, Minneapolis, MN," is a nostalgic trip down memory lane for those who were fortunate enough to experience the grunge era firsthand. As soon as you press play, you can almost smell the stale beer and cigarette smoke wafting through the air of a dingy club. It's like being transported back in time to a time when flannel shirts were fashionable and Kurt Cobain was still alive. The band's performance is tight and energetic, with frontman Bill Janovitz's gravelly vocals still as powerful as ever. The live setting adds a rawness and urgency to their songs, breathing new life into old classics like "Soda Jerk" and "Taillights Fade." But let's be real, this album is not for everyone. If you weren't a fan of Buffalo Tom in their heyday, you probably won't find much to love here.
